Azerbaijan’s freestyle wrestling team finished second in the team standings at the U-23 European Championships held in Zrenjanin, Serbia.
According to Report, Azerbaijani wrestlers won a total of eight medals at the tournament.
Ali Tsokayev (92 kg) became the European champion in his weight category.
Silver medals were won by Jeyhun Allahverdiyev (61 kg), Vasif Bagirov (57 kg), Sabuhi Amiraslanov (79 kg) and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg).
Bronze medals went to Musa Agayev (65 kg), Ramik Geybatov (70 kg) and Zafar Aliyev (97 kg).
Russia finished first in the team standings, while Armenia placed third.
