Two Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers secured bronze medals at the U-23 European Wrestling Championships in Serbia, adding to the country’s growing medal tally at the tournament.

Azerbaijani wrestlers Farayim Mustafayev and Farid Khalilov have won bronze medals at the U-23 European Wrestling Championships held in Zrenjanin, Serbia.
Mustafayev, competing in the 72 kg Greco-Roman category, secured third place after defeating Romania’s Leonard Petru Jurasca in the bronze medal match with a narrow 5-4 victory.
Earlier in the day, Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Farid Khalilov (67 kg) also climbed onto the podium. In the bout for third place, he defeated Hungary’s Petro Zhitovoz with a score of 6-3.
Mustafayev’s result became the sixth bronze medal won by Azerbaijani wrestlers at the championship.
Previously, freestyle wrestlers Musa Agayev (65 kg), Ramik Heybatov (70 kg), Zafar Aliyev (97 kg) and Farid Sadykhly (55 kg) had also secured bronze medals at the tournament.
The U-23 European Wrestling Championships in Zrenjanin conclude on Sunday.
