BAKU, Azerbaijan - Azerbaijan began offering free vaccination against seasonal influenza at state outpatient clinics on Oct. 21, the Health Ministry said.
The ministry imported vaccines for the 2026-2027 fall and winter season as part of a campaign aimed at limiting influenza and other acute respiratory infections during colder weather.
Who Is Prioritized
The ministry particularly recommended vaccination for people at higher risk of complications, including health care workers, pregnant women and people older than 6 months who have chronic respiratory conditions.
Residents can receive the vaccine without charge at state medical facilities providing outpatient and polyclinic services near their home or workplace.
The ministry described vaccination as a principal measure for reducing the risk of seasonal influenza and related complications. The announcement did not specify the vaccine brand or the number of doses imported.
The Health Ministry announcement was reported by APA and Report. The original Russian-language report is available from Vesti Baku.
