Must read

President Ilham Aliyev has approved measures doubling the capital of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund to $200 million and ratifying a separate agreement on international road transport between the two countries.

The measures were enacted through two laws covering agreements signed in Cholpon-Ata on July 31, 2026. The development fund’s authorized capital rises from $100 million to $200 million, according to Report.

The joint fund finances bilateral investment projects and is intended to broaden economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.

Road Transport Agreement Approved

Aliyev also approved the intergovernmental agreement governing international road transport. The published reports did not provide detailed operating terms. Report said the document was signed in Cholpon-Ata on July 31.

The Azerbaijani presidency’s official account of the signing ceremony confirms that the fund amendment and road transport agreement were exchanged during Aliyev’s state visit. The decisions are separate from the allied-relations treaty and add an economic and transport component to the wider bilateral framework, Vesti Baku reported.
