Trade between Azerbaijan and Georgia reached $668.5 million in the first seven months of 2026, an increase of 43.8% from the same period last year.
Azerbaijan’s exports to Georgia rose 50.8% to $576.7 million, AZE.US reports, citing data from the State Customs Committee.
Imports from Georgia increased at a slower rate of 11.5%, reaching $91.8 million.
The figures show a heavily unbalanced trading relationship: Azerbaijan exported more than six times as much to Georgia as it imported from its western neighbor.
Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade reached $29.2 billion in January-July, up 1.3% year over year.
Exports increased 27% to $19.34 billion, while imports fell 27.4% to $9.88 billion.
As a result, Azerbaijan recorded a trade surplus of approximately $9.46 billion – 5.9 times larger than a year earlier.
The sharp increase in the surplus was driven by a combination of higher export revenue and a substantial contraction in imports.
