Azerbaijan exported 5.492 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Turkey in the first half of 2026, according to data from Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority, or EPDK.
The volume was 5.2% lower than during the same period of 2025.
In June alone, Turkey received 1.012 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas, representing a year-over-year decline of 0.7%.
Despite the decrease, Azerbaijan remained Turkey’s largest gas supplier during the month, accounting for roughly one-third of the country’s total natural gas imports.
Iran supplied approximately 883 million cubic meters in June, while Russian deliveries totaled about 882 million cubic meters.
Overall, Turkey imported approximately 2.78 billion cubic meters of pipeline gas and another 282 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas during the month.
Azerbaijani gas from the Shah Deniz field reaches the Turkish market through the South Caucasus Pipeline, also known as the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline, and the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline, or TANAP.
The decline in first-half supplies comes despite Azerbaijan’s continuing role as one of Turkey’s most important energy partners. The two countries signed a new 15-year agreement in early 2026 covering the delivery of 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
Azerbaijan was confirmed as Turkey’s leading pipeline supplier in June by EPDK.
