Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom signed four agreements and memorandums and prepared an action plan containing more than 60 measures across 10 areas for 2026-2027.
Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov announced the package at the eighth meeting of the countries’ Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in Baku on October 6.
The package follows the two governments’ agreement on the text of a strategic partnership document. It moves the relationship toward sector-specific projects covering green energy, transport connectivity and urban mobility.
Digital Roadmap Planned
The two countries also plan a digital transformation roadmap covering artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data centers, skills development and academic cooperation.
Officials said British companies could participate in Middle Corridor projects and other investment initiatives. The full schedule and binding commitments for each proposed project have not yet been published, so the action plan should not be read as proof that every investment has been completed.
The October 6 commission meeting was co-chaired by Shahbazov and UK Trade Minister Lord Anas Sarwar.
