BAKU, Azerbaijan - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and North Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova agreed to continue and expand bilateral energy cooperation during a telephone call on Oct. 21.
Siljanovska-Davkova initiated the call, according to a statement on the conversation. The two leaders discussed conditions in global energy markets, current challenges and possible responses.
The statement did not identify specific projects or give a timetable for new agreements.
Siljanovska-Davkova also spoke positively about the results of her official visit to Azerbaijan, saying it had contributed to stronger bilateral relations and greater mutual understanding.
Energy has become an increasingly important part of Azerbaijan’s ties with European partners as Baku seeks to broaden natural gas exports and develop renewable-energy projects.
The call was also reported by APA. The original Russian-language report is available from Vesti Baku.
