Azerbaijani prosecutor Heydar Yusifzade, whose name has surfaced in a series of controversies, has been dismissed from his post and expelled from the prosecution authorities.
According to local media reports, the decision was formalized by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev.
Yusifzade most recently served at the Khojaly District Prosecutor’s Office. Under the signed order, he has been fully removed from the prosecution system.
He previously held positions at the Baku City Prosecutor’s Office and within the General Prosecutor’s Office department overseeing non-criminal proceedings. He also worked as a state prosecutor at the Khatai District Court.
Reports indicate that Yusifzade had earlier been reassigned from Baku to a regional post following internal issues.
His name has also drawn public attention in connection with a visibly lavish lifestyle, which fueled criticism and speculation.
Yusifzade is the son of the late prosecutor Veli Yusifov.
