Household deposits held by Azerbaijani banks rose 15.8% year over year to 17.90 billion manats, or approximately $10.53 billion, as of August 1.

The banking system’s total deposit portfolio reached 44.50 billion manats, equivalent to about $26.18 billion, according to Central Bank data cited by Report.

The total increased 0.8% in July, 6.55% from the beginning of the year and 6.5% compared with August 2025.

Non-financial companies accounted for half of all deposits, holding 22.24 billion manats. However, their balances declined 4.3% year over year.

Deposits from financial institutions increased 41.8% to 4.36 billion manats.

Short-term deposits totaled 23.82 billion manats, while long-term deposits stood at 20.68 billion manats. The figures rose 6.2% and 6.85%, respectively.

The data show that household savings continued to expand much faster than Azerbaijan’s overall bank deposit portfolio.
