President Ilham Aliyev discussed practical uses of artificial intelligence in green energy, cybersecurity and education with executives from Chinese and Italian companies on Sept. 24.
Aliyev met Kai-Fu Lee, chief executive of China’s 01.AI and Sinovation Ventures, and Filippo Malinverno, coordinator of international summits for Italy’s TEHA Group and head of its Saudi Arabia operations.
The executives were in Baku for the second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, held under the president’s patronage.
Investment and AI Strategy
Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s close relations with China and Italy and said businesses from both countries have already invested in the Azerbaijani economy.
The meeting also addressed Azerbaijan’s artificial intelligence strategy for 2025-2028. The sides discussed possible cooperation, including the use of AI in green energy, protection of digital infrastructure and education.
No specific projects, investment amounts or implementation schedules were announced after the meeting.
