Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, to discuss regional stability and the future of the two countries’ strategic alliance.
The leaders reviewed the regional agenda and exchanged views on further strengthening peace and stability, according to Azerbaijan’s state-run Report news agency.
Aliyev and Erdogan expressed satisfaction with the continued expansion of Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation across multiple sectors. They emphasized that relations between Baku and Ankara are founded on brotherhood and a strategic alliance.
The presidents also reaffirmed the principle of “One Nation, Two States,” stressing that Azerbaijan and Turkey continue to stand by each other in both favorable and difficult circumstances.
The meeting additionally covered prospects for deepening bilateral ties and other issues of mutual interest.
