Azerbaijan signed 23 documents covering projects valued at $10.8 billion at the close of the country’s second international investment forum, according to final figures released by the Economy Ministry.
Together with initiatives announced during Baku Energy Week in June, the latest agreements bring the combined project portfolio to $16.7 billion, according to the official summary carried by APA.
The documents cover artificial intelligence, conventional and renewable energy, construction, the digital economy, industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, finance and water management.
Final Tally Clarifies Forum Announcements
The $10.8 billion figure represents projects covered by the signed documents. The ministry’s final statement did not provide a breakdown of investment by sector, implementation schedules or the legal status of each agreement.
A later Euronews report also cited Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov as confirming the $10.8 billion total, although it referred to 26 agreements. The ministry’s closing account said 23 documents were signed.
The forum was held in Baku through a strategic partnership between Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry and The European House–Ambrosetti, part of TEHA Group. Discussions focused on the Middle Corridor, industrial and free economic zones, artificial intelligence, the energy transition, capital markets, agribusiness and critical raw materials.
Investors Represented About $30 Trillion in Assets
Companies represented at the event collectively manage about $30 trillion in assets, according to organizers. Participants included BlackRock, Global Infrastructure Partners and Brookfield Asset Management.
Foreign direct investment in Azerbaijan exceeded $3 billion in the first six months of 2026, up 13.8% from a year earlier. Azerbaijani investment in foreign economies exceeded $5 billion during the same period.
The economic impact will depend on how many of the signed documents advance into funded projects, along with their launch dates, capital commitments and job creation.
