BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 19 - Gas service will be temporarily suspended in several Baku districts and settlements from 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, while workers connect a new pipeline to the city’s high-pressure network.
The interruption will continue until the work is completed. An exact time for restoring service has not been announced, according to notices from the Azerigaz Production Association reported by APA-Economics and Report.
The affected areas include:
- parts of the Yasamal and Nasimi districts;
- the Badamdar settlement in the Sabail district;
- the 6th and 9th microdistricts in the Binagadi district;
- the Vorovsky and Khutor residential areas;
- the Sulutepe and Khojasan settlements; and
- part of the Bilajari settlement.
The suspension is required to connect a new gas pipeline built by SOCAR’s Gas Export Department to an operating high-pressure trunk pipeline.
The notice concerns planned work in the listed areas and does not indicate a citywide shutdown. In Yasamal and Nasimi, only parts of the districts are expected to be affected.
