Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan Special Forces Complete Joint Drills

BAKU, Azerbaijan - Special forces from Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan completed the multinational “Eternal Brotherhood - V” exercise in Uzbekistan, training for joint operations in mountainous terrain and populated areas.

According to Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry, the drills were designed to improve coordination in planning and conducting joint operations and to facilitate the exchange of experience among the three countries’ special forces.

The troops practiced infiltrating the rear of a simulated adversary, conducting reconnaissance and search missions, seizing important facilities, freeing hostages during counterterrorism operations and protecting strategic infrastructure.

Day and Night Live-Fire Training

The program included daytime and nighttime firing with small arms of various calibers, sniper rifles and specialized equipment. Practical episodes were conducted in both mountainous areas and urban conditions.

Major General Alakbar Jahangirov, commander of Azerbaijan’s Special Forces, observed the final stage of the exercise. Service members who distinguished themselves were awarded after the drills.
