According to the official account of the meeting, Sarwar delivered a letter from British Prime Minister Andy Burnham and said London intended to broaden cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Aliyev said Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom had built an active partnership since Azerbaijan restored its independence. The two sides described the recent increase in visits by British officials to Baku as evidence of the strategic importance of bilateral relations.

The talks covered energy, trade, business, security, the defense industry, data centers, artificial intelligence, agriculture and education. The meeting focused on prospects for cooperation; no new agreements were announced as a result of the talks themselves.

The parties also highlighted the eighth meeting of the Azerbaijan-UK Joint Intergovernmental Commission in Baku, saying it provided an opportunity to examine a broad range of economic issues.
