Azerbaijan has been included among the countries invited to the G20 Leaders’ Summit, scheduled to take place in Miami on December 14-15, 2026.
The official website of the U.S. G20 presidency lists Azerbaijan alongside Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan among the invited countries, although none of the three is a permanent member of the Group of Twenty.
The participation of the three Caspian region states highlights the region’s growing geopolitical and economic importance.
The broader Caspian area is increasingly viewed as a key hub for energy supplies, trade, transportation and connections between Central Asia, the South Caucasus, Turkey and Europe.
Its significance has also grown amid the expansion of the Middle Corridor and efforts to develop trans-Caspian freight routes.
The summit will be held during the United States’ presidency of the G20.
The official G20 website confirms that Azerbaijan has been invited as a country.
