Azerbaijan and Antigua and Barbuda have signed an agreement mutually waiving visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports. Separate agreements with two other countries apply only to diplomatic and service passports.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov signed the documents on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, according to Vesti Baku.
What Changes for Travelers
The agreement with Antigua and Barbuda covers ordinary, diplomatic and service passports. It is the only one of the three newly announced arrangements that waives visas for ordinary citizens.
Azerbaijan also signed separate reciprocal visa-waiver agreements with St. Kitts and Nevis and with Benin, but those apply only to holders of diplomatic and service passports.
No effective date has been announced. Travelers should continue checking current entry requirements until the required procedures are completed.
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said the agreements are intended to facilitate official and people-to-people contacts and support tourism. The details were published by Report.
