A temporary outage in information systems used by medical facilities overseen by Azerbaijan’s Management Union of Medical Territorial Units, known as TƏBİB, has prompted hospitals to register patients through a backup procedure.
TƏBİB said the disruption involved network and cybersecurity systems, according to a Vesti Baku report. Local and foreign specialists working for the system provider are involved in efforts to restore normal service.
Social media users reported long queues at hospitals and linked the delays to technical problems that began a day earlier. TƏBİB has not disclosed how many medical facilities or patients were affected.
Medical Services Continue
The agency said an alternative registration mechanism had been activated to keep medical services operating. It apologized for the inconvenience and said restoration work was continuing.
The precise cause of the outage has not been established publicly. Although TƏBİB referred to problems involving network and cybersecurity solutions, it did not say that a cyberattack had been confirmed.
