Official data show that 59,834 people died in Azerbaijan in 2025, while 95,875 children were born. The country’s natural population increase stood at 36,041.
Azerbaijan recorded an average of about 164 deaths per day in 2025, according to figures released by the State Statistics Committee.
The committee said 59,834 people died in the country during the year. Over the same period, 95,875 children were born.
The natural increase in the population stood at 36,041 people. Of that number, 11,530 were recorded in urban areas and 24,511 in rural areas.
Official figures show that 45,336 children were born in cities, while 50,539 were born in rural areas. Of all newborns, 50,914 were boys and 44,961 were girls.
The figures show that births continued to exceed deaths in Azerbaijan in 2025. At the same time, the average of 164 deaths a day gives a clearer picture of the scale behind the annual demographic data.
