Azerbaijan Records 89 Adoptions in 2026, Families Receive Up to 600 Manats Monthly

Eighty-nine children have been adopted in Azerbaijan since the beginning of 2026, according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.

The group includes 45 girls and 44 boys, AZE.US reports.

The Social Services Agency continues monitoring the children’s living conditions and well-being until they turn 18. During the first year after adoption, inspections are conducted quarterly. In subsequent years, monitoring takes place once annually.

Monthly Payments for Adoptive Families

Families adopting children who were deprived of parental care are eligible for monthly government assistance:

  • 240 manats, or about $141, for each adopted child between ages 3 and 18;
  • 600 manats, or about $353, for each adopted child with a disability.

Adoptive parents may also qualify for additional benefits related to social protection, employment and taxation.
