Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry has urged citizens not to travel to areas affected by armed conflicts, including Ukraine and the Middle East.

The ministry said growing international tensions and ongoing hostilities in several regions continue to pose a serious threat to global security.

It noted that Azerbaijani citizens have been killed or injured while staying in or near conflict zones.

Officials advised travelers to assess security conditions before going abroad, follow warnings issued by state agencies and avoid areas where military operations are underway.

The ministry also reminded citizens that taking part in armed conflicts in foreign countries, whether as mercenaries or volunteers, may lead to criminal prosecution under Azerbaijani law.

Azerbaijan’s embassies and consulates will continue working to protect the rights and interests of citizens abroad, the ministry said.

At the same time, officials stressed that individuals must take responsibility for their own safety and stay away from high-risk activities.
