BAKU, Azerbaijan - A 221 million manat ($130 million) integrated textile complex planned for Mingachevir Industrial Park is expected to create 2,300 jobs and produce 11 million shirts annually.
Textile Horizon LLC will develop the project on an 11.2-hectare site, according to Vesti Baku. The company was established by Azersheker LLC, Global Textile LLC and the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Fund.
The facility is designed to cover the production chain from cotton processing to finished garments. Its projected annual capacity includes 16,000 metric tons of cotton lint, 11,000 tons of yarn, 7,300 tons of dyed fabric and 11 million shirts.
Production will serve both Azerbaijan’s domestic market and export customers. The project plans to use technology from the United States, Türkiye, Japan, Switzerland, Germany and India.
Construction Has Formally Started
The foundation stone was laid Sept. 26 during an online ceremony attended by President Ilham Aliyev, Report.az said. The enterprise will receive the tax and customs benefits available to residents of Mingachevir Industrial Park.
No timetable has been announced for the start of production or for the complex to reach full capacity.
