Turkey exported goods worth approximately 2.62 billion manats ($1.54 billion) to Azerbaijan during the first eight months of 2026.
Although total shipments declined slightly, Azerbaijani spending on Turkish steel and agricultural products increased sharply.
According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly, or TIM, exports to Azerbaijan decreased by 0.9% compared with the same period of 2025.
In August alone, Turkish shipments totaled approximately 334.4 million manats ($196.7 million), down 4.5% year over year. Azerbaijan accounted for about 1% of Turkey’s total exports, which rose 4.7% to $161.2 billion in January-August.
Steel and Food Imports Rise
Azerbaijan imported around 152 million manats ($89.4 million) worth of Turkish rolled-steel products during the eight-month period, representing an annual increase of 35.2%.
August steel shipments, however, declined 5.5% to approximately 16.7 million manats ($9.8 million).
Imports of grains, legumes, oilseeds and processed products increased 15.1% to approximately 216.5 million manats ($127.4 million).
In August, shipments in this category jumped 20.9% to around 27.5 million manats ($16.2 million).
Together, steel and agricultural products accounted for more than 368 million manats ($216 million) of Turkish exports to Azerbaijan.
The figures indicate that the modest decline in overall trade conceals substantial growth in product groups connected to construction, manufacturing and the domestic food market.
TIM statistics reflect declarations submitted by Turkish exporters and may differ from Azerbaijan’s final customs figures because of differences in reporting periods and methodology.
