The editor-in-chief of the Azerbaijani news portal 7NEWS.az, Sabuhi Abbasov, says the website has been inaccessible inside the country for nearly ten days.
According to Abbasov, the domain 7news.az appears to be blocked for users within Azerbaijan, while it remains accessible from abroad and through VPN services.
The editor claims the restriction was imposed without a court decision, which he argues contradicts the legal procedures governing website blocking in the country.
Abbasov said he has sent official inquiries to several state institutions, including the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, but has not yet received a response.
He also stated that he plans to address the issue with other institutions, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service, the Media Development Agency (MEDİA), and the Press Council.
According to the editor, Azerbaijani legislation предусматривает блокировку интернет-ресурсов только на основании судебного решения.
The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport has not publicly commented on the allegations so far.
