Visitors to Baku Boulevard can now take a 30-to-35-minute ride in a retro-style electric phaeton for 40 manats.

According to Vesti Baku, each trip lasts about 30 to 35 minutes and covers a route through the Seaside National Park.

The phaetons depart from the Azneft Square area, travel along the boulevard and return to the same starting point.

Each phaeton can accommodate up to four adults and two children. The 40-manat fee applies to the entire carriage rather than to each passenger.

Although designed to resemble Baku’s traditional horse-drawn phaetons, the new vehicles are powered by electric motors. They are intended to offer visitors a quieter and more environmentally friendly version of the city’s old carriage tradition.

During the ride, guides provide information about the boulevard’s history, architecture and major landmarks.

Passengers also receive a souvenir photograph taken with the phaeton and designed in the style of a vintage newspaper.

The service is available to both local residents and foreign tourists visiting Baku’s waterfront.
