Some Cars in Azerbaijan Are Starting to Get Cheaper

Prices for some car models in Azerbaijan have started to fall, mainly among vehicles imported by private sellers or small dealers without official warranty or after-sales service.

According to ATV, the decline is not affecting the entire market. It is mostly visible among cars produced in previous years, especially models brought into the country in large numbers in 2024 and 2025 but not sold.

Experts say one reason is the arrival of newer 2026 models. Many buyers prefer to purchase the latest version of the same car, which puts pressure on sellers holding older stock. To attract buyers, they are forced to reduce prices.

Another factor is linked to previous tax and customs benefits for hybrid vehicle imports. Those incentives encouraged not only professional dealers, but also inexperienced entrepreneurs to enter the car business.

Some sellers imported large numbers of vehicles, particularly from China, without properly calculating demand, storage costs, marketing risks or service obligations. As a result, the market now has more cars than it can quickly absorb.

Experts say not every entrepreneur who brings cars into the country is able to sell them successfully or organize after-sales service.

The problem is now most visible among vehicles sitting in stock. Sellers have money tied up in unsold cars, while newer models are already entering the market. In many cases, discounts have become the fastest way to move inventory.

Still, analysts stress that this is not a general price collapse. The trend concerns specific models and sellers, mostly unofficially imported cars without dealer support.

Market participants expect prices to remain relatively stable until September. A sharp increase is not expected, but neither is a major decline across the entire auto market.
