BAKU - Azerbaijan and the countries of Central Asia are aiming to raise regional trade to $20 billion and establish joint production under a “Made in Central Asia” brand, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said on Oct. 1.
Jabbarov announced the target at the CAMCA 2026 Regional Forum in Baku, according to APA. Vesti Baku also reported on the proposal.
The minister said Azerbaijan has already established joint investment funds with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Azerbaijan’s share in each mechanism is at least 50%, he said.
The funds are intended to combine several medium-sized markets into a broader investment platform and support projects designed to operate across more than one country.
A Wider Economic Space
Jabbarov said Azerbaijan and Central Asian states are forming a single economic space connected to Europe through Türkiye and to Asian markets in the other direction.
In November 2025, Azerbaijan became the first country outside Central Asia to join the format of consultative meetings among the region’s heads of state. The first meeting of trade and investment ministers from Azerbaijan and the Central Asian states was held shortly before the CAMCA forum.
The $20 billion figure remains a target. Officials have not publicly specified a timetable for reaching it or detailed how production under the proposed regional brand would be organized.
