Azerbaijan produced 477 buses and other vehicles for public passenger transport in 2025, nearly four times the previous year’s total and 239 times the level recorded in 2020.
The figures are based on data from the State Statistical Committee. Of the total, 249 vehicles were produced in Baku and 228 in Hajigabul.
Bus Output Rises as Overall Auto Production Falls
The surge in the bus segment contrasts with the broader automotive industry. Azerbaijan produced 4,973 motor vehicles during the year, a decline of 27% from 2024, although the total was 2.3 times higher than five years earlier.
Passenger-car production fell 33% to 4,038 units. Truck production declined 34% to 458 vehicles.
Manufacturers also produced 14 trailers and semitrailers, down 30% from the previous year and 26% below the 2020 level.
Public passenger transport was therefore the fastest-growing segment of Azerbaijan’s automotive industry even as total vehicle output contracted.
