BAKU, Azerbaijan - Azerbaijani authorities destroyed 8,016 packages of a veterinary medicine imported from China after laboratory testing found that its pH level failed to meet technical standards.

The Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan identified the noncompliance while inspecting a shipment of Farmazin Tylo imported by Spektra-Vet.

Under the agency’s decision, 5,010 50-milliliter bottles and 3,006 100-milliliter bottles were destroyed.

Farmazin Tylo is a veterinary antibacterial medicine used to treat bacterial infections in animals and poultry.

The agency did not say that the tested shipment had entered retail circulation and reported no injuries or harm to animals or people. It said the destruction was ordered because the product’s laboratory pH result did not comply with established requirements.
