Azerbaijan and the Dominican Republic have signed an agreement to waive visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said.
The agreement was signed in New York after Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met Dominican Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez Gil on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The two countries also signed a memorandum establishing a mechanism for political consultations between their foreign ministries.
The Azerbaijani ministry’s announcement did not specify when the ordinary-passport visa waiver will enter into force or how long travelers will be permitted to stay without a visa.
Until the governments publish implementation details, travelers should continue checking the requirements in force before departure. Signing an agreement does not necessarily mean it applies immediately; such documents may require domestic procedures or a later exchange of diplomatic notifications.
