Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Washington hosted an official reception at the Kennedy Center to mark May 28, Independence Day, and Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces Day.
The embassy told Report that the event was attended by U.S. government officials and military representatives, diplomats, and members of the Azerbaijani-American community.
The ceremony highlighted the strength of the Azerbaijan-U.S. strategic partnership and the expanding cooperation between the two countries in defense, economic development and regional security.
The reception also underscored Azerbaijan’s role as a partner of growing importance in the South Caucasus, where energy, transit, security and diplomatic issues remain central to wider regional stability.
Azerbaijan marks Independence Day on May 28, commemorating the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918.
