BAKU, Azerbaijan - Education authorities have begun checking compliance with clothing rules in Baku’s state schools, including student uniforms and teachers’ professional attire.
The Baku City Education Department said the monitoring examines whether students follow established uniform requirements and whether teachers dress in a way appropriate to their work and the school environment, according to Report.
Vesti Baku reported, citing the department, that students and teachers receive preventive and explanatory guidance when violations are found. Parents may also be invited to the school.
In some cases, students or teachers whose clothing did not meet the rules were not admitted to classes, the department said. Officials did not disclose the number of schools inspected or the total number of violations.
The checks are based on clothing requirements established through Cabinet of Ministers decisions for state general-education institutions.
The department said the monitoring will continue and enforcement will be strengthened.
The issue has drawn public attention after disputes over school clothing and religious elements. The latest announcement describes enforcement already taking place but does not provide school-by-school results.
