Azerbaijan is raising the minimum monthly salary floor for a range of civil service positions, with the new minimum set at 1,170 manats for administrative posts and 760 manats for auxiliary positions.
According to Vesti Baku, lawmaker Vugar Bayramov said the move follows a decree signed by the prime minister to ensure implementation of Presidential Decree No. 626 of March 19, 2026.
Bayramov said the government order sets out the steps state institutions must take to carry out the presidential directive and establishes specific deadlines for the relevant agencies.
Under the new framework, monthly official salaries for civil servants working in state bodies will be recalculated based on updated pay scales. The system introduces 35 pay levels for administrative positions and 17 pay levels for auxiliary positions.
That means salaries for employees in those categories will be adjusted upward in line with the new structure. In practical terms, official monthly pay for administrative positions will not be allowed to fall below 1,170 manats, while auxiliary positions will have a minimum threshold of 760 manats.
Bayramov said the change is expected to benefit lower-paid civil servants in particular and strengthen social protection measures overall.
