ATA-DC and Cultural Diplomacy and Development Foundation successfully hosted the special documentary screening and book presentation of “Speaking Colors: Ibrahim Safi” in Washington, D.C., bringing together diplomats, scholars, artists, diaspora leaders, and members of the international community.

The event celebrated the life and artistic legacy of İbrahim Şəfi, one of the most distinguished figures in modern Turkish art, whose work symbolizes the deep historical and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
The evening opened with welcoming remarks by Sevtap Schreffler, President of ATA-DC, who emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic world.
Distinguished diplomatic remarks were delivered by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, highlighting the strong partnership and brotherhood between the two nations.
Zaur Bayramlı, political analyst, journalist, and one of the initiators and organizers of the event, presented the vision behind the project and spoke about Ibrahim Safi’s contribution to the cultural memory of the Turkic world.

During the event, Leyla Mammadli, Founder and Executive Director of Cultural Diplomacy and Development Foundation, delivered remarks on the importance of cultural diplomacy in strengthening unity, dialogue, and cooperation across the Turkic world. She highlighted the role of art and cultural heritage in building bridges among nations and promoting mutual understanding.

The audience also heard remarks from Jale Jafarova, director of the documentary and author of the accompanying book, who shared insights into the creative process and the significance of preserving the legacy of Ibrahim Safi for future generations.
The program featured the screening of the 20-minute documentary “Speaking Colors: Ibrahim Safi”, followed by a book presentation, audience discussion, and networking reception.
The event served as an important platform for cultural dialogue and reaffirmed the growing role of cultural diplomacy in strengthening ties among Turkic communities and international partners.
