Azerbaijan has been selected to host the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank’s 12th annual meeting in 2027, according to Vestibaku.
The decision was approved by the AIIB Board of Governors. A handover ceremony took place in Doha during the bank’s 11th annual meeting.
Azerbaijan Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said the selection reflected the country’s partnership with the bank and strengthened Azerbaijan’s presence on international financial and investment platforms.
The gathering is expected to broaden cooperation with international financial institutions, showcase Azerbaijan’s investment opportunities and support sustainable development projects.
The exact date and venue for the 2027 meeting have not been announced. AIIB’s official announcement said the preceding annual meeting was scheduled in Doha for Sept. 23-24, 2026.
