Azerbaijani journalist Avaz Zeynalli, founder of the Xural newspaper and head of the Xural TV online channel, died on September 28. He was 56.
Lawyer Rashad Vagifoglu announced his death on social media, according to Azerbaijani news outlets.

Zeynalli had been living with cancer. In April 2025, a court released him from serving the remainder of his prison sentence on health grounds.
