Azerbaijani wrestler Fatima Bayramova has won a bronze medal at the U17 European Wrestling Championship in Samokov, Bulgaria.
The women’s wrestling competition concluded on the fifth day of the tournament.
Bayramova, competing in the 53 kg category, defeated Poland’s Zuzanna Sokolovskaya by technical superiority, winning the bronze-medal bout 10-0.
Another Azerbaijani athlete, Nuray Jafarli, competed for bronze in the 46 kg category but lost 1-4 to Croatia’s Lara Blajekovic and finished fifth.
Simura Abdullayeva, competing at 69 kg, was eliminated after losing 2-8 to Russia’s Polina Yefimova in a repechage bout.
Bayramova’s bronze was Azerbaijan’s main result of the day in the women’s competition.
