Azerbaijan’s Non-Oil Exports Reach $2.8 Billion

Must read

Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports rose 17.6% year over year to $2.81 billion in the first eight months of 2026, according to preliminary figures in the September Export Review from the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.

The headline total excludes non-monetary gold. In August alone, non-oil exports increased 13% from a year earlier to $350.8 million, the center said.

Gold Exports Reach $271.2 Million

Separate data cited in the review showed Azerbaijan exported $271.2 million worth of gold in January-August, up 28.7% from the same period of 2025. Gold shipments in August totaled $36.8 million, an annual increase of 15.4%.

State mining company AzerGold accounted for $180.6 million of export revenue during the eight-month period. That was $32.6 million, or 22.03%, more than a year earlier.

Satellite-Service Revenue Jumps

Azercosmos exported satellite telecommunications services worth $17.4 million, nearly 50% above the comparable 2025 figure. About 95 companies in 36 countries used the agency’s services.

The United Kingdom was the largest market at $2.8 million, followed by Luxembourg at $2.1 million, Turkey at $874,700, Pakistan at $776,500 and Tanzania at $437,200. Despite the rise in export revenue, exports’ share of Azercosmos’ total income declined to 61% from 66%.

Some SOCAR Units Record Declines

SOCAR Polymer exported $175.6 million of products, down $14.9 million, or 7.8%, from a year earlier. SOCAR’s Marketing and Economic Operations Department exported $207.3 million in non-oil products, a decline of $65 million, or 23.9%.

The figures show that Azerbaijan’s broader non-oil export growth remains uneven, with rapidly expanding gold and satellite-service earnings offset by weaker results at some large state-linked exporters.
