Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received Turkish Justice Minister Akin Gurlek in Baku on July 2, with the two sides discussing bilateral ties and cooperation in the legal sector.
Gurlek thanked the Azerbaijani president for the reception and conveyed greetings from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Aliyev expressed his appreciation and asked the minister to pass on his greetings to the Turkish leader.
During the meeting, Gurlek said relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, built on shared history, culture and close fraternal ties, continued to strengthen through the close relationship between the two countries’ presidents.
The Turkish minister also praised Azerbaijan’s economic development, growing international influence and victory in Karabakh.
He highlighted Azerbaijan’s role in regional energy and transportation projects, including the Zangezur Corridor, and said Turkey would continue to stand by Azerbaijan.
The two sides noted that the strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Turkey was developing successfully across all areas.
They also discussed cooperation between the justice ministries of the two countries and exchanged views on ways to expand their partnership.
