BAKU, Azerbaijan — Construction has started on the first residential complex in Gubadli, where 21 buildings containing 176 apartments are planned on a 3.34-hectare site.
The project is being developed under Azerbaijan’s Great Return program. Foundation work has been completed and construction is proceeding in stages.
Apartments of Up to 95 Square Meters
The complex will include 14 three-story buildings and seven four-story buildings. Most of the homes will have two or three rooms, with floor areas ranging from 60 to 95 square meters.
Plans for the site include children’s playgrounds, recreation and landscaped areas, bicycle parking, above-ground and underground vehicle parking, and two nonresidential buildings.
Two underground water reservoirs and a pumping station are also planned as part of the complex’s fire-protection system.
Novres Jafarov, executive director of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service for the Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan districts, said design work for a second residential complex is nearing completion. Construction of that project is expected to begin soon.
Gubadli is among the districts where Azerbaijan is building housing and infrastructure for the return of displaced residents.
