Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in New York during a working visit, with the two sides discussing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China.

According to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, the ministers reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and future prospects for cooperation.

The talks covered political dialogue, trade, transport, energy, green development, digital transformation, agriculture, education and humanitarian ties.

Bayramov and Wang also exchanged views on regional and international developments, as well as cooperation within multilateral platforms.

The sides noted China’s active participation in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, which was held in Azerbaijan in May. They said the Chinese delegation’s participation contributed to the development of multilateral cooperation.

The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the comprehensive partnership between Azerbaijan and China in line with the mutual interests of both countries.

For Baku, the China track is not only a diplomatic file. Trade, transit, energy, digital transformation and green development are closely tied to Azerbaijan’s broader role as a connector between Asia and Europe.
