Azerbaijani citizen Abbas Abbasov was killed in a Russian strike on the Stolychnyi market in Kyiv region on the evening of Sept. 27, and several other Azerbaijanis were wounded, according to Report.
Abbasov, 48, was a native of Azerbaijan’s Kurdamir district and worked as a trader at the market, Report’s Eastern European bureau said. The identities of the wounded were still being established.
The strike hit the wholesale agricultural market in Sofiivska Borshchahivka outside Kyiv and caused a fire. Emergency services were deployed to the site.
Oleksandr Medvid, acting head of the Borshchahivka village council, said two people were killed in the attack, according to Forbes Ukraine. Report identified one of the dead as Azerbaijani and said several compatriots were wounded.
A Separate Attack
Abbasov’s death was separate from the killing of 71-year-old Lankaran native Ashur Akbarov in Vyshneve earlier the same day. They were different victims in strikes on separate locations in Kyiv region.
Information about the wounded and the scale of damage at the market was still being clarified. Russia had not commented on the reported market strike.
