Used cars in good condition, fuel-efficient models and hybrids became more expensive in Azerbaijan in April, even as the broader car market remained relatively stable.
According to VestiBaku, citing local media, price growth that began earlier this year continued into the spring. The increases varied depending on the production year of the vehicles and their popularity on the secondary market.
Among cars produced in 2005-2010, Toyota Prius, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Honda Civic were among the models that rose most noticeably in price. In this category, prices increased by an average of 1,000 to 2,500 manats. Demand has been supported by buyers looking for relatively affordable, reliable and fuel-efficient vehicles.
In the 2011-2015 segment, the increase was stronger. Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, BMW 5 Series and Chevrolet Cruze rose by 2,000 to 4,500 manats. These models remain popular among buyers seeking a balance between comfort, age and price.
For cars produced in 2016-2020, the rise was mainly seen among hybrids and vehicles with lower mileage. Toyota Prius, Kia Cerato, Hyundai Elantra and Honda Insight increased by about 2,500 to 5,000 manats.
For new and relatively new vehicles produced in 2021-2025, higher prices were mostly linked to import costs. In the hybrid and electric vehicle segments, price differences reached 3,000 to 7,000 manats.
Toyota Prius, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series and Honda Civic were among the models most often mentioned as having become more expensive.
Experts link the price growth to several factors, including higher customs and import costs, reduced supply, more expensive spare parts and stronger demand ahead of the summer season. In April 2026, the sharpest increases were seen in mid-priced, fuel-efficient and hybrid vehicles.
