BAKU, Azerbaijan — President Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijan should allocate state budget funds to rapidly build infrastructure for the Western Industrial Park, a key site in the country’s plans to expand its mining industry.
Aliyev described the project as a new practical stage in Azerbaijan’s mining and metallurgical industry development program for 2027–2030.
The industrial park is linked to the development of the Dashkasan ore deposit and other projects in nearby districts. Aliyev said the objective is not limited to extracting raw materials, but also includes establishing a complete domestic production chain through the manufacture of finished products.
He said the site will require infrastructure that must be built quickly, with financing provided for in the state budget.
The announcement gives a specific focus to the previously presented state program, shifting attention from broad investment goals to the industrial site, its infrastructure and budget support.
