International video game commerce company Xsolla has officially opened a research and development center in Baku, employing 79 people, 95% of whom work in software development.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev attended the opening. He said the center is expected to help train qualified information and communications technology specialists, develop the country’s gaming industry and support technology startups.
The project could also expand exports of Azerbaijani digital products and services and help local game developers enter international markets.
The opening follows talks held in September 2025, when Azerbaijani officials and Xsolla discussed turning the company’s Baku office into a regional game development center. The company has now formally launched the center and disclosed the size and technical focus of its team.
