Twelve documents were signed at the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, where President Ilham Aliyev said the TRIPP route would strengthen Azerbaijan’s role as a regional transport and investment hub.

In an address to the forum, Aliyev linked new trade and investment opportunities to the emerging peace in the South Caucasus, development of the Middle Corridor and the future Zangezur corridor, according to Vesti Baku.

Aliyev said real gross domestic product in the non-oil sector had grown by an average of 5% annually since 2020. Non-oil industrial output increased 1.5 times, non-oil exports nearly doubled, and the non-oil sector’s share of GDP reached 72% in 2025.

Azerbaijan’s strategic foreign-currency reserves exceeded 110% of GDP by the end of 2025, he said. The president also noted that Fitch and Moody’s had raised Azerbaijan’s sovereign ratings to investment grade.

TRIPP and Green Energy

Aliyev said the Middle Corridor already links Central Asia with the South Caucasus, Turkey and Europe, while TRIPP is expected to expand trade, industrial and investment cooperation across Eurasia.

He said Azerbaijan’s energy strategy now extends beyond traditional supplies to green-energy corridors, renewable power, digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

Investment agreements worth more than $10 billion were signed at the inaugural forum in 2025, including more than $7 billion in the non-oil sector.

Twelve Agreements

The latest package covers construction, solar and wind power, industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, banking and digital technology.

The projects include production of silicon carbide, silicon oxide and silicon in the Alat Free Economic Zone; a pharmaceutical plant; veterinary-vaccine production; a poultry project in Aghdam; and cooperation with Microsoft.

The agreements also cover ROX Group projects in construction and renewable energy, the Azerbaijan-Oman Joint Investment Fund’s acquisition of a non-voting stake in AzərTürk Bank, and Azerbaijan-Ukraine cooperation on investment promotion.
