Azerbaijan has proposed setting the general living wage for 2027 at 314 manats (about $184.71), an increase of 14 manats from the current level. The measure is still under parliamentary consideration.
The proposed living wage would be 334 manats (about $196.47) for working-age people, 258 manats (about $151.76) for pensioners and 274 manats (about $161.18) for children, Vesti Baku reported.
For 2026, the general level is 300 manats (about $176.47), while the figures are 317 manats (about $186.47) for working-age people, 245 manats (about $144.12) for pensioners and 260 manats (about $152.94) for children. The proposed increases range from about 4.7% to 5.4%.
Needs Criterion Also Set at 314 Manats
A separate bill would set the needs criterion for 2027 at 314 manats. That benchmark is used to determine whether a family qualifies for targeted state social assistance.
Both measures are being considered on first reading. If adopted, the new figures would take effect Jan. 1, 2027.
