Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed an Azerbaijani government delegation’s current visit to Iran and negotiations on bilateral cooperation.
Aliyev called Pezeshkian on September 29 to congratulate the Iranian leader on his birthday, Vesti Baku reported. The conversation also covered relations between Azerbaijan and Iran.
The two leaders recalled their latest meeting in Bishkek and the issues discussed there. They noted that an Azerbaijani government delegation was in Iran for talks on bilateral cooperation.
The call followed renewed discussion of transport and economic projects between Baku and Tehran. Representatives of the two countries had discussed speeding work on the North-South transport corridor, launching border infrastructure near the Aghband-Kalaleh bridge and completing work at the Astara cargo terminal.
No new agreement or decision was announced following the call.
