BAKU, Azerbaijan - Azerbaijan’s minimum monthly wage could rise to 460 manats in 2027, economist Eldaniz Amirov said, while stressing that no final decision has been made.
Amirov forecast a range of 450 to 470 manats and said 460 manats appeared the most realistic outcome. That would be an increase of 60 manats, or 15%, from the current 400-manat minimum.
He based the estimate on two approaches. Using projected inflation, the figure would be about 450 manats. Applying the forecast growth rate for the average nominal monthly wage would produce a figure of about 467 manats, he said.
Amirov cited data putting the average nominal monthly wage at 1,102.9 manats in 2025 and forecasting it at 1,288.3 manats in 2027, an increase of 16.8%.
He said a 470-manat minimum was also possible and would better support purchasing power.
Azerbaijan raised the minimum wage from 250 to 300 manats in 2022 and to 345 manats in 2023. It remained unchanged in 2024 before rising to 400 manats on Jan. 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. No increase was made in 2026.
Amirov’s forecast was first reported by Pravda.az and republished by Vesti Baku. The final minimum-wage level for 2027 has not been determined.
